The Directed Energy (DE) Programs and Capabilities Conference will focus on the DE Shield concept and will facilitate
a detailed discussion of DE technologies to support an Integrated Unit Base and Installation capability for our
forces. Co-sponsors of this year's event include ATL/DDR&E and Northrop Grumman.
The discussions will include
- Intelligence review of foreign DE capabilities
- Overview of service specific DE force protection programs and projects
- Overview of Integrated Unit Base and Installation Protection (IUBIP) requirements
- Panel discussions on the way forward for government and industry
- Review of areas for industry and government collaboration to support DE technology
development and IUBIP deployment
Bottom line: The emphasis will be on mission accomplishment, system effectiveness, advanced development,
demonstrations and fielding.
Agenda
The program will cover a day and a half. On the first day, a Flag/General Officer/SES/VP forum will review
review programs and discuss action at the Senior Leadership perspective. The second day will be devoted
to action officer discussions of current programs and the implementation of action items from the first day's
forum. The program will be complete by noon, in time for most attendees to travel home
that day.
