The Solid State and Diode Laser Technology Review (SSDLTR) continues its mission to
be the premier technical meeting for the DoD high power solid state laser community. SSDLTR 2006
brought together researchers and managers from government, contractor and university for
the exchange of ideas relating to the development of high power bulk solid state, fiber
and semiconductor laser systems and related technologies.
In its nineteenth year, SSDLTR's research focus included:
- Fiber lasers
- Solid state lasers
- Semiconductor pump lasers
- Alternate wavelength sources (via frequency conversion or direct lasing)
- Optical and component damage
- Novel Optical materials, such as ceramics
- Beam combination and frequency conversion of fiber and solid state laser systems
- Beam Control, thermal management, packaging, ruggedization and other systems issues
