Atmospheric M&S platform for open-air field testing and evaluation technology: A concept overview
We present a concept of a modeling and simulation (M&S) platform specifically aimed to support open-air field testing and evaluation of high-energy laser (HEL) directed energy (DE) systems. The software platform architecture is based on the following digital dashboards, to be further defined and developed: atmospheric characterization, diagnostics, and sensing; virtual target-plane sensing; M&S validation and assessment; digital field test replay; interactive parametric analysis; and advanced test and evaluation. The dashboards will be integrated with Coherent’s HEL-PETT wave-optics-based parallel computation software engine. The platform architecture and concept development will be discussed in detail during the presentation.
