Scalable Beam Director Development and Testing
MZA Associates Corporation has undertaken the development of beam directors using scalable design principles for application to the broad set of High Energy Laser Weapon Systems (HELWS). Throughout this development, MZA has attempted to apply common engineering principles to addressing beam director requirements including support for both on-axis and off-axis beam directors, day-night acquisition and tracking, inertial line-of-sight (LOS) stabilization, and integration with beam control systems. This presentation describes MZA’s progress in the development and testing of Scalable Beam Director (SBD) technology.
