Multi-kW Capable Optical Beam Splitter
A high-power optical beam splitter capable of operating at multi-kW CW power levels was designed and experimentally demonstrated. The splitter’s core functionality targets continuous division ranging from 0 to 99% and redirection of high-energy or high power laser beams, enabling precise targeting and maximizing the effectiveness of laser weapons. This beam splitter could also operate as a high-power spatial mode converter that delivers a pre-determined intensity distribution at the target. The such designed optical elements were successfully tested with up to 5kW CW laser sources.
