BlueHalo/AV Instrumentation for Downrange Test and Evaluation of High Energy Lasers
As laser weapons systems are developed there is a need to measure the irradiance profile and power delivered by an HEL beam at range. BlueHalo/AV has previously developed and delivered the Laser Integrated Diagnostic Suite (LIDS) for measuring HEL system parameters at the target location. LIDS is in use at five laser test ranges in the United States. BlueHalo/AV has developed a new suite of HEL instrumentation that is more mobile and more capable than previous instrumentation. Lessons learned from LIDS have been incorporated. New instrumentation will be described and test results presented.
