The 2024 Annual Directed Energy Science and Technology Symposium will be held 20-24 May 2024 in Colorado Springs, CO. This event will focus on sub-systems and component research as well as development

aspects of DE in a mixed-access environment. All symposium sessions will be conducted at either the Open/Public Release or CUI/Limited Distribution level this year, allowing all attendees to have participation options at all times.

  • Held in conjuntion with the JDETO Technical Review (formally known as the JDETO Annual Review)
    • This new dynamic will (1) maximize in-person participation and (2) coordinate the disclosure of information at the appropriate classification level (up to CUI at this event)
    • The JDETO has teamed with DEPS to accomplish (1) and (2) with a coordinated/deconflicted Joint agenda at the DEPS Annual S&T Symposium
    • This event will review technical progress made towards ongoing projects from the Laser Sources, M&S, and Beam Control & Propagation Technical Areas within the JDETO’s Enabling Tech Program
    • In support of the JDETO’s DE Center of Excellence, this event will also host a DE Workforce Development Workshop, which is complementary to the DE Education Workshop
    • The JDETO Technical Review will be open to all symposium attendees with a DEPS-approved visit request for attending CUI/Distribution C/D sessions – please see Security for more information
